About Us
Cooper City Utilities has been serving the residents of Cooper City since 1983. Cooper City is Someplace Special. Just look around. Our City is still very young, but we’re a community that cares. You can see it in our carefully tended lawns, our clean streets and the way we know our neighbors.
On March 17, 2006, the Cooper City Utilities plant was renamed the George A. Haughney, P.E. Utility Complex in honor of our friend and colleague who was the City’s first Utility Director and City Engineer.

Cooper City Utilities department is proud to support the great quality of life here. We make your water supply safe, clean and affordable and we manage wastewater for the community; and we work hard to continuously improve operations.
The mission of Cooper Cities Utilities is to operate water treatment plants and wastewater treatment plants to meet the needs of residents. City staff members maintain the water distribution system and wastewater collection system. The goal of Cooper City Utilities is to provide a safe, reliable and cost-effective supply of water, while focusing on high water quality standards and excellent customer service. We take great pride in our work, and we work hard to make your water the best water possible.
Cooper City Utilities is responsible for the water distribution and sewer system up to and including the meter. Each homeowner or business is responsible for the water and sewer lines from the water meter to the home.
To meet these objectives, Cooper City Utilities manages the water distribution system, water treatment plants, wastewater collection and wastewater treatment within Cooper City.
We are also responsible for waste management – which includes sanitation services, recycling and bulk pick-up.
Key Staff
The utilities department has 35 staff members who are dedicated to our mission – and to the people of Cooper City. We focus on ensuring a safe reliable and affordable drinking water supply for you.
